Dr. Zachary Gleit ’83, an assistant professor of surgery at Columbia University Medical Center and a general surgeon who usually specializes in hernia repair, gall bladder surgery, and appendectomies, volunteered for New York-Presbyterian’s SWAT – surgical workforce access team to help in the intensive care unit as the COVID-19 crisis overwhelmed New York City. As part of his team’s contributions, they organized and performed a “healing concert” to help relieve the emotional burdens around the crisis.
